How to play the A chord
I’m going to show you two ways to play the A chord. We’re going to start out with the first finger, and we’re going to place that on string number four. String one, string two, string three, string four. We’re going to take that first finger and put it behind the second fret, here is first fret, here is second fret. So, we’re going to take that first finger and put it behind the second fret of the fourth string. Then, we’re going to take finger number two and place that on the third string, second fret. So, counting up, one, string number two, string number three, behind the second fret, putting the second finger, right there behind the second fret. Now, we’re going to take the third finger and place that on the second string, second fret. So, counting up, string one, string two, putting it behind the second fret. And then, we’re going to strum five strings, strings five through one. So, one, two, three, four, five. And that is an A chord. Another way to play an A chord, is taking the first finger and we’re going to do a partial bar, we’re going to lay it on, we’re going to lay string three and four, on the pad here. We’re going to place that right behind the second fret, of string three and four. So, fret one, fret two, so, fret two’s here. String one, string two, string three, string four, placing that finger flat, behind that second fret on string three and four. Then, we are going to take the second finger, and place it on the second string, string one, string two, behind the second fret. And here’s the second fret, second fret. And you’re going to play again, all five strings.
